Hallow Dear,

Swelling after delivery is to be taken rather seriously. It can be due to clot formation in the deep vessels of the leg (Phlegmasia alba dolans). This can happen in particular if the patient was in the bed without making any movements of the legs. The leg gets swollen, becomes warm. There is always a risk of clot getting dislodged from the veins of the leg and go to any vital organ like heart, lungs, brain, etc.

Such problem requires immediate and active management to prevent further complications.

Please report to your Obstetrician ASAP and admit her in the hospital if indicated.

I hope you got the message.
