What Causes Swelling Of Right Foot After Appendectomy?

My daughter 16 had appendectomy last July. About 4 months after the op her right foot began to swell. It remains swollen. Her MRI of right foot came back negative but she has high ASTO scores. She did have 3 bacterial infections . Staph aureus, pseudomonias and E.Coli which were treated with antibiotics. She has had abdominal scan of organs all seem clear. What could be the problem?

Thank you for asking!
Foot swelling and appendix operation has nothing in common except for the fact that the operation and anesthesia might have lead to a renal shutdown and resultant edema. History of staph and strep infections and pseudomonas makes it more likely a renal compromise. Why dont you get the renal functions assessed and see if there is anything to worry about. 24 hour urinary proteins is also a test worth doing.
take care
