What Causes Swelling Of The Scar Tissue Post Cervical Surgery?

I have scar tissue that formed on top and under the incision from a cervical surgery. It swells and is uncomfortable and looks bad. I am having another cervical surgery end of this month. How can the surgeons prevent this from happening and causing more scar tissue and swelling. Is there a way to treat the swelling?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can be infection/pus under the scar or it can be a hypertrophied/keloid tissue. Go to the surgeon who operated you and he's the best to know what has gone wrong.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
