What Causes Swelling Of The Soft Palate?

I have a student with swelling of the soft palate immediately to the left of the uvula. The uvula does not appear swollen. The swollen area is paler than the rest of the soft palate. She also has nasal congestion and a sore throat but is afebrile.

hello thanks for the consultation at hcm.differential includes an periapical r peridontal abscess,which is draining in soft palate area,,it could also include swollen tonsils ,,plz do salt water gargle thrice daily, and consult a dentist r ent surgeon..hp it helps.tc.
