What Causes Swelling On Either Side Of The Purple Bruise On The Buttocks?
4 months ago I fell on a stair and bruised my right butt.. Spread down my thigh up my back doctors thought it was a possible dvt so spent the night in the ER. To date I have a lump above the stair line and a deep purple line across my butt cheek with swelling below and above. I have tried massage therapy and it s not working. I look like I essentially have a double butt what are my options because at this point it is very ugly to look at. I am a business professional and feel like I cannot wear anything remotely tight fitting including skirts because you can see the upper protrusion and the dent. I have not found much online addressing this and am considering seeing a plastic surgeon. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swelling on either side of the purple bruise on the buttocks . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like trauma , anticoagulant medications , mongolian spot , allergic reaction , side effects of medicine or fungal infection . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses , keep this area clean and dry , take anti histamine like benadryl and apply over the counter antifungal cream . Wear loose cloths and clean the area with warm water or betadine. Consult dermatologist if condition doesn't get well . Doctor may prescribe anti bacterial like clindamycin , cortiosteroid ointment and anti allergic like immunosuppressants .
