What Causes Swelling On Labia Minora?

My daughter has three swellings in a row on her .. labia minora I think.. closer to the outside than the Bartholin duct? They are really painful and have appeared and disappeared at least three times in the past four months. Can you suggest what they are and how to treat? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Swelling on the labia could be minor infections, cysts or abscess or allergy to any vaginal wash or cosmetics used.

Any history of fever ,painful or burning urination or discharge from the lump or vaginal discharge should be ruled out.The age of the patient has not been mentioned.

Antibiotic course for 5 to 7 days may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
