What Causes Swelling On Legs While On Chlorambucil?

My husband takes Chlorambusil for his leukemia. He has been in the hospital for hip replacement surgery. While in the hospital his feet began to swell, then the swelling moved up into his legs and knees, then his thighs, now his abdomen is swollen. The swelling seems to be moving up his body. He also has very dark urine , an amber color. He is confused and slurres his words. Is this a side affect from his cancer medication?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The swelling on legs, abdomen with dark amber urine suggest the side effect of the Chlorambucil over kidney with systemic manifestations. A thorough clinical work up with basic lab tests, ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis for best judgment is recommended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
