What Causes Swelling On Lips And Tongue After Eating?

I have problems with my lip and now my tongue is swollen on one side.This can happen any time after I had eaten different things. Why do this keep on happening. It last almost 24 hrs. No matter what I take for allergiies. I have went to the doctor once he gave me a shot, my lip did not go down until close to the 24 hr time frame. Some times it feel like my throat get the swelling in it after eating .

As per your complain it seems to be due to certain food allergies and at times it can be due to either a common constituent in different foods or you may be allergic to multiple food products..

You should consult a Physician and get evaluated and a blood investigation can be done to rule out the food items causing allergy as antibodies are formed in the body as a protective measure to fight against the irritant or allergen..

So this can help in ruling out the exact allergen..

In case of you have an allergic reaction till you are known about the allergen you can take Cetrizine or Fexofenadine ( Allegra) for reducing allery symptoms..

Although the best way to prevent allergic symptoms is to prevent exposure to allergen
