What Causes Swelling On The Ball Of Feet While Suffering From Fever?

Hi, my son is 11 years old. He is running a 100 degree fever as of today. He has a huge hive on his hip and I noticed the ball of feet and one of the pads on his palm is swollen. He also has a swollen lump on his jawline which appeared suddenly.

Hello,

The symptoms of your son seem to related to a viral infection.

The lump can be related to a swollen lymph node.

I recommend using Tylenol for the fever.

If the symptoms continue for more than three days I suggest seeing a pediatrician for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
