What Causes Swelling On The Face After Taking Clindamycin?

I took clindamycin for a tooth infection one week after I took a tetanus shot, the infection got worse, it caused swelling in one side of my face. I went to an endidontist to help after my case had gotten much worse. He removed the tooth decay and some of the swelling. It took a week for the remaining swelling to go down. Now the arm where I got the tetanus shot has nerve pain any tingling for a week. Should I be concerned? Could it be a bad reaction to the shot and the antibiotic?

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Normally Tetaanus toxoid injection hardly causes any lasting pain. If at all pain may remain for a day or at the most for two days. Longer duration of pain may due to infection at the site of injection. Is there any swelling and redness observed there? In case there is such sign then one need not worry. It should subside. You may apply ice pack to relieve the pain. Thanks
