What Causes Swelling On The Left Side Of The Face?
What causes your left side of face to swell up? My husband went to see our Family Dr. on April 20th and they gave him a weeks worth of Prednisone as they thought he had an allergic reaction to something while cutting the grass. Well, he was not cutting the grass today and as the evening has gone on his face has again swollen up even more. Any ideas??
Well, sudden and recurring swelling of the face can be due to an allergic reaction.
However if not grasses then it can be related to some foods or medicine or other environmental irritants. So my suggestion is to consult an Allergist or his Physician and get him evaluated.
A clinical examination and allergy test can help in confirmation. Swelling on the face should be taken care of as at times. However, not always if there is swelling of the throat then it can cause choking.
For now, he can take anti allergic medicine like Fexofenadine or Levocetirizine. But getting checked is a must.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Honey Arora, Dentist
