Hello, I have a slightly swollen round area with a white 'spot' in the middle of it. It is located on my front lower gums right below one of my teeth. My tooth doesn't hurt at all but the gum does especially when my mouth is moving. I've never had this problem and I am not sure what it is? Hope someone can help me, thank you
As per your complain it looks like a gum abscess due to deep infection in gums.. It commonly occurs when due to poor oral hygiene conditions there is deposition of plaque and tartar over the teeth and deep in the gum pocket areas leading to deeper penetration of the bacteria in gums leading to abscess formation..
Other cause can be deep impaction of food particles into gums or toothbrush trauma..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated, so that he can do a clinical evaluation and investigation like x ray to eliminate other common cause that is tooth abscess that can be due to Infection in tooth..
In case of gum Infection deep scaling and Curettage followed by a course of antibiotics like Metronidazole and anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and Serratiopeptidases can help.. Doing warm saline gargles, antiseptic mouthwash gargle and gum paint massage can help..
Hope this information helps..
Regards..
