What Causes Swelling On The Outside Of Knee?

I have a hard swelling on the outside of my left knee I ve had it for over a year and it aches down the outside of my lower leg I stand a lot of the time at work which when I first noticed it at one time it felt hard as bone on the outside of the knee but that disappeared now its lower down

Well come to HCM
Some time this could be single joint arthritis but this need to be confirmed and for that x-ray study is required, till then this can be managed with NSAID (Non- Steroid anti-inflammatory drugs) if this is unbearable or else this can be best avoided taking drug is not that much necessary, hope this information helps, take care.
