What Causes Swelling On The Right Side Of The Hard Palate?
I have swelling on the right side of my hard palate. It s almost impossible to see, but I can feel it distinctly with my tongue. I ve had it for over a year, and it started out small and has gotten bigger. I ve asked dentists about it, but since it s not visible to the naked eye they say it s nothing. I m having ear pain/dizziness as well, so that s making me worried. Also, I ve had a brain MRI that was normal, but I m unsure if this shows my mouth region. Should I be worried?
A hard lump on the palate can be due to bony torus or Palatine torus that can be due to harmless overgrowth of bone..
Other cause can be mucocele or mucous cyst formation that can be deep enough to.appear on surface.. You can consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough palpation and investigation like x-ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. Although there can be some surgical treatment needed but it is not necessarily required..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
