Hi..
Thanks for writing to us..
I have gone through your query and can very well understand your health concerns..
As per your complain swelling under the jawline can be
swollen lymph nodes also known as
LYMPHADENOPATHY and it is commonly due to infections in the nearby and distant regions of the body..
It can be due to causes like:
1. Any prevailing or recurring infections on facial structures like ear, throat, nose, teeth, salivary glands, teeth and gums etc or at times infections of distant body parts may cause secondary infection and swelling in distant lymph nodes..
2.Any long standing debilitating diseases..
3.
Wisdom tooth eruption or infection of the gum flap over wisdom tooth..
Another common cause can be swelling in the submandibular salivary glands that can be due to infection in the glands or due to obstructed ducts caused by stone formation..
Consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated as after thorough examination and investigations the correct diagnosis and treatment can be done ..
In case of infections and inflammation of lymph nodes or the salivary glands then antibiotics like
Augmentin or
amoxicillin and anti-inflammatory medicines like
steroids can be taken..
In case if there is some doubt still left
Biopsy of lymph nodes can be done..
In case of obstruction in the duct of salivary glands removal of the stones either manually or surgically can be done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
