What Causes Swelling On The Roof Of The Mouth Despite Taking Antibiotics?
Hi...several weeks ago got a sinus cold, by the third day had a sore throat too. One week later, overnight, got aching and swelling in lower and upper gums, swelling of roof of mouth and terrible sore throat. Went to doctor and was put on antibiotics. After 5 days, still not feeling well and still had swelling of roof of mouth so doctor put me on prednisone. This did nothing. After 5 more days was put on another antibiotic. Am feeling much better but still have swelling of roof of mouth.

Hi,
Since you are responding to the second antibiotic, you need to complete the course. Infection of the soft tissue of palate seems to be the underlying cause and is likely to subside.
