Hi..
Thanks for the query..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your query, the symptoms of
swollen tongue along with a sore over the tongue and thick saliva during the intake of
levaquin that contain active ingredient Levofloxcin that is an antibiotic can be most probably due to
allergic reaction to the antibiotic..
As you have already completed the dose of the antibiotic and other medications, the symptoms will gradually subside..
In case if you still have a swollen tongue you should consult an Emergency room and they can give you a combination of anti-allergics like Levocetrizine and a
steroid shot for relieving the symptoms..
It should be taken care of as excessive tongue swelling can cause choking and difficulty in speaking..
Along with it for the sore on tongue if it is painful, applying pain relieving gels containing Choline Salicylate or
Lidocaine can help..
Doing soda bicarb gargles and warm saline gargles can relieve you..
Chew sugarfree chewing gums to improve salivation..
Drink plenty of water..
Hope your query is resolved..
Regards.
