Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hI a couple years ago I HAd an artificial artery implanted from my waist to my calf in my fight leg to help circulation. It has worked out well. My upper leg swelled at the time and the area just above my plumbing became like a bag of liquid which subsequently went down some along with my leg although is is still swollen to some degree, but manageable. My question is that the area has slowly gotten what seems like more liquid although my Doc thinks its fatty tissue. If it is liquid can a needle be inserted and the area drained or if it is fat can that be removed without to much problem?

Hi,
Such swelling can be due to inflammation(painful, fever), fat deposition or water retention due to circulation problem.Such water retention can not be drained out with a needle.
