Hi dear ,
As per your query you have
swollen tongue from last 4 months . There can be many reasons for swollen tongue like :-
- Allergic Reactions , allergic reaction to toothpaste, mouthwash, dentures, denture creams, or retainers. Allergic reactions to certain medications may also cause this condition.
-Sjogren's syndrome , This condition results in the destruction of the saliva glands. When this occurs, you may develop dry mouth, which in turn can lead to
tongue inflammation.
-oral
lichen planus .
- pemphigus .
I would suggest you to consult oral pathologist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order certain tests like blood test to check different types of blood cells , presence of antibodies , evidence of inflammatory . Other tests like sialogram , biopsy and salivary
scintigraphy . Treatment will depend upon the diagnosis . For now do warm saline rinses and take
paracetamol for pain and fatigue.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
