What Causes Swelling Under Chin And Side Of Neck Along With Sore Throat?

I am a 45 year old white male in excellent health, yearly physical exams. Wednesday my throat became very red, inflamed and was painful to swallow, very much like STREP symptoms. I took Motrin, used Listerine and the next day felt a little better. My throat is still somewhat sore but now I have noticed it is swolen under my chin, and very tender to the touch. It seems the lymphs nodes are tender as well along the side of my neck where it meets the lower jaw.

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The soreness in the throat can be because of the bacterial infection, the swelling in the chin can be because of the inflammed lymphnodes secondary to throat infection. Nothing to be panic, consult an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like azithromycin or ciprofloxacin(if you are not allergic). Do saline gargling.
