What Causes Swelling,itchiness And Redness After Having A Tetanus Shot?

I got a tetanus shot on Thursday, it's my third in my lifetime. However this time I am having adverse reaction. At the injection site, it is swollen, really red, itching, hurts and spreading really badly throughout my arm. It's getting worse each day. I also had flu like symptoms, shivering, aching body, fatigue, diarrhea etc. Is this normal?
