What Causes Swollen And Black Bruising On Jaw Bone?

my 2 year old daughter was running and fell against a wooden chair and hit her cheek by her jaw bone. Immediately a black bruise formed and it swelled up to where her eye was starting to close. after ice and ibroprofen the swelling went down some but 3 days later her face is still very visibly swollen and the black bruise is spreading. should i take her for an x ray? She is not eating as much and is having a hard time drinking also.
