Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a strong pain on the left side of abdomen. It is swollen and hurts all the time. This began after midnight last night. At first I thought it was my appendix, but this is not in belly button area... to the left of center. Will this go away with rest and time? The SHARP pain has lessened. I do not feel sick, except a little light-headed. No fever. I had a normal bowel movement after eating cereal for breakfast. It hurts so much it is difficult to stand up straight. Any suggestions what this is?
It seems that you have gastritis or gastric infection. The most possible cause is gastritis. In gastritis, there is an irritation of the lining of the stomach. This irritation leads to pain and contractions and also a bloated feeling.
You can try taking 20 ml of Pepto-Bismol 2 to 3 times a day for 2 days. If it does not help you, then you should see a Doctor. All the best and wish you a speedy recovery.
Hope this helps you
