What Causes Swollen And Painful Cheek?

Hello , I have a swollen cheek and under my ear, it hurts to touch it, I started having feelings of for example, like when you suck on a lemon and you get that feeling in that gland it has been happening on and off for over a month now, but today it hurts and is swollen up on one side of my cheek area I'm thinking I need to see a Dr.

As per your query swollen and painful cheek below the ear can be commonly due to two conditions:

1. Due to inflamed gum flap over the wisdom tooth which gets inflamed and inflammation lads to pain and swollen cheek..
If it is the cause it can be corrected by taking antibiotics and painkillers along with warm saline gargles.
In case if it still persists extraction of wisdom tooth or removal of the gum flap is the permanent cure..

2.If pain and swellin is also present in fron t of ear it can be due to either infection or clogged duct of parotid gland..
For infections antibiotics and painkillers will help and for clogged duct removal of obstructing foreign body or stone that are at times formed in the ducts needs to be removed..

Get a confirmatory diagnosis done by consulting an oral physician and treatment can be planned accordingly..
