What Causes Swollen And Painful Eye Lid?

3 days ago I woke up with a swollen eyelid, its pink, hurts and itches (only in the corner of my eye) while making my eye watery. I considered a stye, but I don t see one. I took allergy pills thinking it was allergies but it didn t do anything. Do you think its just a stye I can t see, I would think I would see one after three days, my friend told me her eye looked like this with a stye.

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having swollen and painful eyelid. Since it is presenting with symptoms of pain, redness and watering indicating inflammatory symptoms, it is more likely inflammation of the glands of the eyelids like hordeolum internum or hordeolum externum. Since it is not seen externally it can be hordeolum internum.
The treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops and anti-inflammatory drugs. Applying hot compression provides symptomatic relief.
