What Causes Swollen And Painful Lymph Nodes Behind The Ears?
The nodes behind both ears are swollen and painful. I have allergies, but this came on quickly. I also have two red "spots" - about the size of a pencil eraser that are raised and dry, one on the side of my jaw along my hair line, and the other on my scalp. My face, neck and scalp have been itching as well - more than normal. ALL symptoms started at the same time.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your query it seems to be a bout of allergic reaction causing the symptoms that you are experiencing and you should consult an Allergist and get evaluated .. He may advise you allergy tests as well as advise you anti allergic medication like Fexofenadine ( Allegra) or Benadryl.. Steroid like Methylprednisolone or Cortisone can also be advised.. Once the exact cause of allergy is diagnosed preventing exposure to allergen can help in avoiding allergy attack.. As of now you can take Benadryl for reducing itching and Ibuprofen for relieving pain.. Do cool compresses over lymph nodes..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
