What Causes Swollen And Painful Shin After An Injury?
Hi I was playing basketball when my shin collided with another guys knee I felt instant pain and a large bump as appeared on the front of my shin it's been 4 hours and I'm still in a lot of pain why is it very swollen painful to the touch and pain gets worse while walking
The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to musculo-skeletal injury. The swelling is caused due to accumulation of fluid and blood (haematoma) following the impact. X ray of the leg can be done to rule out any pathological cause for the symptoms.
Symptomatic relief can be obtained by application of ice, analgesic & muscle relaxant gel, intake of analgesics like Diclofenac + Serratiopeptidase (to be taken after food) and Pantoprazole (to be taken 30 minutes before meals). Supplements of Calcium & Vitamin D can be included in your diet which will help in strengthening of bones.
There is no need to worry, you will be fine. Maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status, take proper rest and avoid stress.
Wishing a Good Health. Take care.
