What Causes Swollen And Redish Lump Between Toes?

Concern: Foot pain Personal Information: Male, age 54, 240 Lbs, Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms: Started with a cyst like feeling ball between 1st and 2nd toe on left foot. Minor redness started to appear at the toe line on the top of foot, accompanied by minor foot swelling. This redness was rashlike and itchy at first, but not rash or itchy now, just red. The skin between 1st and second toe became dry and peeled off (healed - no open wound) - ball under the skin is still there though. On a scale of 1-10, foot pain is about a 5 (today), but can vary from day to day. This is not athlete s foot, and I don t think it is gout either (not that painful). The redness now extends 3/4 of the way up on the top of the foot. Top of foot, including 1st and second toe are swollen, as well as the bottom of the foot. Circulation in the foot is fine. The redness turns purple when it gets wet. These symptoms have gone on for about 3 weeks. Any idea what could be causing this?

Hi,
From history it seems that there might be having some infection following something bite.
Due to having diabetes infection spread fast giving all these problems.
Consult your doctor as soon as possible.
You might require one course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine courses for 5-7 days.
Clean local part with antiseptic lotion and apply antibiotic cream locally.
Ok and take care.
