What Causes Swollen And Watery Eyes When Diagnosed With Conjunctivitis?

My daughter has been diagnosed with viral pink eye. It has been a week now since the diagnosis. She still has a very swollen eye and now there are bloody, watery tears coming from her eye. There is not a lot of blood, but I am just wondering if I should be concerned.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms of your daughter seem to be related to pinky eye which is a viral infection. I recommend her Ibuprofen. I also suggest that using over-the-counter lubricating eye drops (artificial tears). Put a warm, damp washcloth over the eyes for a few minutes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
