What Causes Swollen Ankle While Suffering From Hypertension?
I have high blood pressure and I have swelling in my ankles. one ankle was broken in 2005 had two surgeries and still swells. now my right ankle swells. have numbness in hands and fingers, feel tired all the time. when I am just sitting I sound like I have just ran a mile. heavy breathing for no reason. told that I have enlarged heart.

Hi,
Your doctor can be right. You have to rule out cardiac cause by EKG investigation.
If it comes normal than SGPT, SGOT, UREA, CREATININE estimation also should be done for further workup.
Moreover investigate with thyroid profile as well.
Your detailed neurological evaluation also needed.
