Hi,
Pentogen injection contains
medroxyprogesterone which is used in the treatment of various menstrual problems such as painful periods, heavy bleeding during periods, irregular or absent menstrual cycles,
endometriosis, reduce the risk of developing ovarian cysts etc. This injection contains progesterone only, a female natural hormone called medroxyprogesterone that is used to prevent unwanted pregnancies from unprotected sexual intercourses. This injection provides full protection against unwanted pregnancies for 3 months but the average time to wear out fully from the body is 8-9 months.
Like other medications, this injection may also cause some side effects like nausea, vomiting, sweating, headache, changes in body weight, hair loss, vaginal bleeding,
vaginal discharge, irregular
uterine bleeding, withdrawal bleeding or
spotting between periods, breast tenderness and enlargement due to fluid retention, fatigue, unusual tiredness and weakness etc. These side effects are usually mild and self limiting. But, if these side effects persist for long or bother you, then you should consult your doctor first for medical attention.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
