What Causes Swollen Calf, Foot And Toes With Fluid Filled Bulge In Knee?

Over the last year or so I have had a large bulge on the outside of my right knee. It is evident that there is a lot of fluid in it. Now, my whole calf, ankle, foot & toes are very swollen, stiff & almost useless on both legs. What could be some of the medical things that these symptoms be caused from?
