What Causes Swollen Clitoris During Pregnancy?

I am 39 weeks pregnant. I recently came out positive with a UTI infection, my doctor gave me KEFLIEX of 500MG to take 4 times a day for 7 days. I finished the medication. But now I still have some itching in my vaginal area. But now my clitorous is swollen and hurts to even wipe from front to back. Along with some itching. I m not sure if this is normal or not. And I ve went to the doctors and they said it s all part of the pregnancy. That just like women s legs and hands get swollen so can down there. But is it okay to feel the pain as well.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As there is a pain as well with the vaginal swelling, the possibility of vulval infection either bacterial or fungal is more likely.

Usual hormone-induced changes are not painful in the majority of the instances.

* I would quote for the need of swab test of the vulva and get microbiological results for best needy management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
