What Causes Swollen Eye Lids And Urinary Incontinence In An Autistic Child?

Hi my 4 years old autistic daughter had swollen eye lids and her urine is not held and vaginal area is red and raw . She is very cranky and doesn t want to eat or drink. I applied nystatin cram to the vaginal area and am not sure if the swelling on the lids are due to some kind of kidney problem which maybe causing h2 o retention?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The vaginal problem might be due to local inflammation and it is unrelated to swollen eyelids.

As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Consult an ophthalmologist and get evaluated for eyelid swelling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
