Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. My daughter (16mths) fell out of bed 2 nights ago and then last night, took a tumble and hit her forehead on the tiled kitchen floor. We haven t suspected a concussion etc however today her left eyelid is swollen and it s causing us some concern. When she fell out of bed she landed on carpet - we slept with her that night and again last night. She hasn t vomited or seemed dizzy.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Swollen eyelids will be as a result trauma from the fall. From your description of symptom, it sounds like a mild trauma that may not pose any problem.Severe trauma will have severity signs ranging from loss of consciousness to signs of raised intracranial pressure like vomiting and loss of equilibrium. I will suggest you get a pain/antiinflammatory drug for her like ibumol and observe. You may also see a Pediatrician for reassurance. Hope this will help Best regards
