What Causes Swollen Face, Hands And Legs In A Patient With Cirrhosis?

Hi My father is suffering from liver cirrhosis. Last month he was admitted and taken treatment. From last month he has not taken alcohol. However now his face,hands and legs are swelling. Consulted with dr he said again need to admit. Pls confirm the line of treatment and cost related to this.as it does not cover in medicliam. Thanks vijay

I really appreciate your concern, you have not mentioned the type cirrhosis your father have, but in case of cirrhosis no specific treatment are available and if it is to be given then you have to see the gastroenterologist, because complete investigation may needed for this, etiology is the matter of concern, (You have not mentioned ager of your father else something else would have been suggested ) Hope this information helps, take care.
