What Causes Swollen Glands In The Neck, Body Ache And Chills?

Hi Doctor, for the past 3 days, I have had swollen glands in my neck, body aches and chills. This morning I woke up with a fever of 102.7 so I went to the Minute Clinic. I was tested for mono, flu and strep throat. All tests were negative. The dr. wrote a prescription for amoxicillin/clav (875 mg). I m also taking Motrin and Tylenol. Fever is now gone. Do you think I should go to the emergency room to see if I have something worse?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No need to worry much and rush to emergency at present.
You are mostly having upper respiratory tract infection. It will take time (1 week) for complete resolution of symptoms.
With your current drugs, your fever is gone.
So no need to rush to emergency.
Drink plenty of fluids orally. Do warm water gargles. Finish your current drugs. You will mostly improve with these drugs in 1 week time.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
