Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good evening. My 16 year old daughter recently complained of swollen glands in her neck as a result of what she believes to be a cold. This morning, she woke up saying that the left side of her neck hurt, thinking that it had to do with the fact that she only slept on one pillow. Just now, she came to me in tears, showing me that her left armpit (at the front of her arm) is swollen and is affecting her circulation in her left hand. The site is swollen, not warm or red, but seems to be very painful.
Please do not ignore the symptoms. You immediately need to take her to a Pediatrician or a surgeon for proper evaluation. Lymph node inflammation can occur in a number of situation ranging from simple infections to cancers. Please get the child evaluated as soon as possible.
Hope that helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks, Dr. M Zahoor Bhat
