What Causes Swollen Knees After Receiving Cortisone Injection?
I just had a Synvigo one/ Cortisone injection all in the same needle. Now my knee is swelling up. I went to the Doctor . He is out of town and his staff gave me a cortisone pill pack. It really hasn t helped. I m just trying to figure out what to do.. thanks for trying to help but I really need to go see the Doctor that has given the injections
Now since you took cortisone injection for what you did take it's not known.
But usually after taking up the injection there will be swelling and pain due to the foreign compound trying to work behind the pain to reduce it.
This is usually a normal physiological process and it heals over time. Try using hot water fermentation and keep the limb elevated for time being. It will help reduce swelling and pain.
Using a knee brace is also good because it will allow the joint stability. You can wait for the doctor to meet him up but I feel it's a common reaction in most people post taking the cortisone injection in situ.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
