What Causes Swollen Legs After Increasing Estradiol Dosage?

My doctor increased my estradiol from .5 to 1.0 mg. I took the new dose for about a week and my feet and legs swelled. I quit taking it and the swelling went away after about a week. I haven t taken any since. Should I go back to .5 mg even though I didn t feel like it did anything

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I too think the edema (swelling) on your legs is due to estradiol as you were increasing the dose. You should report this to the doctor who prescribed it to you in order to make appropriate changes.

We should know the reason why you take estradiol, to understand the benefits and take proper actions for the side effects. As we lack this information, the best thing to do is to come back to your doctor and report everything what you experienced.

All the best.
