Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swollen Legs And Slurred Speech While On Eliquis?
We recently moved to a new location and are in the process of finding doctors here and transferring our records. My husband used to take blood pressure pills, and visited our new cardiologist this week. He currently is taking amlodipine besylate with benazepril, 10-20mg. He also hade an ekg that showed a-fib. He was also put on the blood thinner Eliquis. He had an echo, and today went for a blood test. He is scheduled for an ultrasound of a swollen leg. He has been borderline for diabetes in the past, but is not on meds for diabetes. All seems stable so far, and we re awaiting further results, but I noticed that yesterday and today he was unable to finish sentences, and seemed to search for words. I am concerned that these may be syptoms of a stroke. He is speaking well now. Should I be worried?
Sometimes it may be drug side effects or may be due to intracranial bleed or stroke.
