What Causes Swollen Lips And Numbness In The Cheek Area After Injury?
My 92 year-old father fell and hit his eye socket/cheek area against a door jamb 2 weeks ago. He has had much follow-up at Kaiser, x-ray, mri, etc. and is healing well. We were told he did sustain some nerve damage, his upper lip is still swollen and numb and his cheek is itching and twitching - I want to know if we can administer any home treatment/soothing for those symptoms, make him more comfortable. robin, daughter
Hello Dear Robin I evaluated your concern in depth . Nice care you are taking for father great . @ Swollen upper lip can be taken good care with ice application 3-4 times / day @ Cheek itching is soothing by applying alternately turmeric paste & Aloe vera gel for 3 times a day ( having antiseptic & anti inflammatory actions ) . @ Continue medicines as per advise of your doctor . Hope this will definitely help your father . Feel free to ask any further health related question in future anytime . Thanks for using health care magic . Regards .
