What Causes Swollen Lips While On Tylenol And Advil For Sore Throat And Fever?
Hi, my son is 17, he is currently experiencing a sore throat with swollen tonsils. Friday he spiked a temp of slightly over 103 via temporal measurement. We controlled the temp with alternating Tylenol and Advil. by sat he had no temp and needed no treatment for fever. Today about 2 hrs ago his lips have swollen. No new foods, no temp, he is not in distress and the only thing different is we gave him a Sucrets for his sore throat. We gave him Benadryl for the swelling. I m just curious if I should have further concern.

As per your query your son have symptoms of swollen lips while on Tylenol and Advil for sore throat and fever which seems to be due to allergic reaction leading to allergic angioedema.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take Allegra and activated charcoal as well as it will absorb toxins and will give immediate relief.
- Apply cold compresses on lips.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
Visit paediatrician once and get complete examination done and start treatment after thorough examination. You should take alternative course of medications for sore throat and fever as physician will prescribe after evaluation for allergy.
