Hello, I m a little concerned because earlier this morning I started feeling pain around my anal region. It persisted throughout the day, and when I finally decided to take a look, I saw that I have a swollen lump around my anus. When I searched for my symptoms, a lot of sources related it to infections caused by STDs, but I m not sexually active, so I know that any sort of STD could not be the cause. Any thoughts?
Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. S. Samanta's Response
Hi, this is nothing but some infective/inflammatory pathology could be para-rectal abscess, allergic reaction, hemorrhoids or infected inclusion cysts!
You need to go for a stool examination and application of local topical antibiotic lotion or cream and get back to us after 2/3 days!
all the best........
