What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes After Choking Up On Food?

My son was eating a carrot and decided to run around while doing so and began to choke and threw it up. Some pieces came out of his nose. Since vomiting he has a stiuffy nose and can t breathe. Is this normal? I looked inside his nose and both sinus glands are swollen and there is hardly any space. Should I take him to the er or will this swelling subside on its own?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your son.

As per your history it seems to me that your son is suffering with acute tonsillitis. Because of the swelling in tonsills he must have choked and food come out of the nose.

As you had not mentioned the age of your son I can't provide you the details of treatment.

You must visit a ENT spacialist for further evaluation in case he feels any difficulty in breathing or feverish you may need to visit the ER.

Hope the answer to your query and visit us back in case you want any further help, also provide your feed back too.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
