What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes After Using Steroid Shots For Asthma And Allergy?

My daughter has allergies and is asthmatic. She has to take allergy shots. She has had difficulty breathing since Saturday. We took her to the emergency room and she got a steroid shot. They put her on steroid pack for the next 5 days. Her lymph nodes are swollen on her neck. She did fine today until about an hour ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for contacting health care magic....

Here for asthma attack your daughter is given steroid shot to relieve inflammation....

Here if needed maintainance spacer or inhaler with bronchodilator has to be started ....

Allergen search also done by allergy testing ex.patch test

Any way focussing on your question , enlarged lymph node can be from reactive enlargement ...
It could be temporary viral infection also.
Nothing done actively.CBC done ..If neutrophilia and bacterial infection suspected than give antibiotic for that....

If after 10 days and using antibiotic lymph node enlarged than FNAC like investigation done ...for further work up

Take care
