What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes And Chest Discomfort While Suffering From EBV?

I have active EBV, no thyroid, swollen lymph nodes, and have been having trouble (not all the time) but pretty often, swallowing while eating or drinking. It feels like something is lodged in my chest, and when I go try and throw up, the food doesn t come out but long strings of mucus do. Once I get rid of all that, I can eat or drink just fine.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Epstein Barr Virus infection is frequently associated with painful enlargement of the lymphadenopathy. Its a viral infection and should settle down with just supportive therapy. Warm water and salt gargling helps soothe the irritation and clear the thick mucus.
Doesnt need any specific therapy.
Nothing more or surgical is needed if not complicated that is if your tonsils are so big tha they're touching in the midline making swallowing difficult
