What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes Behind The Right Ear?
Hello, My fiance is a 20 year old female and for the last few months she has had two swollen lymph nodes. One is the occipital and the other is right behind her ear, so I guess post auricular. Other than the two swollen lymph nodes, she s been fine. No night sweats. No fatigue. No fevers. Nothing. She isn t worried about it, but I have health anxiety and always fear the worst. When the two first popped up, she had been bleaching her hair like crazy. Not sure if that s related. Could somebody give me some insight into what this could be? I guess my biggest fear is lymphoma, but I ve been reading that lymphoma doesn t usually affect those two nodes. Why is this?
Swollen lymph nodes are not necessarily related to cancer always. It can be swollen due to infectious cause. I suggest you seek medical help for this, as a careful examination with medical history is needed to rule out any malignancy.
IF needed the doctor might ask for biopsy of the nodes. Although the chances are very less, if its just bacterial infection it will get better with antibiotics. So do not worry and consult your doctor for the same and follow his advice.
Hope this helps. Feel free to contact for any further query in the future.
