What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes, Boils And Ingrown Hairs?

My right lymph node is swollen, I don t have an infection but I just fininshed my period could that be the cause? I am prone to boils and ingrown hairs could that have anything to do with it? I ve had this happen once before in my neck & my doctor said it was no big deal
