What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Neck?

Hello, I just finished eating burning hot wings from Pizza Hut and after eating these wings my glands in my neck are swollen, I've had hot and very hot wings before and never had this happen. Is this a result of the hot potency from the wings or is it something else?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

There is a possibility that excessively hot food have caused burning and inflammation of throat causing inflammation of the glands too..
At times too hot and spicy food can cause temporary inflammation of glands due to irritation in mouth and throat .
Other cause can be allergy to any constituents of the food that you have taken..
Nothing to worry, the swelling will subside soon..
Take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and do warm saline gargles..
Do cool compresses over the glands..

In case if the swelling does not get better in 3-4 days then have a clinical examination done by a physician..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
